The Reasoning Behind Feeding ColiClenz™ Plus in 10 Week Cycles
It is understandable that many people do not know the reasoning behind the 10 week regimen. This is new science developed by PHP Pellets. Academic research has established the quantity and frequency of the product for use by the general horse owner to help avoid equine colic. This information is not yet widely known, therefore it is not fully understood by many consultant animal healers. It takes time and opportunity to introduce this science.
Most psyllium seed husk products presently available for your horse are dosed as human products, in small doses given regularly. Give some thought to the length and breadth of your torso, and the barrel of the horse. There is a huge difference, with a lot of intestinal area to cover if a psyllium seed husk treatment is chosen.
PHP Pellets recommends a reasonably large ration of psyllium seed husk, which is mixed with a feed to provide the carrier of the operative material to the digestive tract.
The ration increases daily for 5 days.
It has been proven through PHP Pellets' research on the horse's digestive tract that the repetitive cycle of the horse's system of creating enzymes to process newly introduced food fed on a regular basis is between 7 to 10 weeks will be most helpful in avoiding colic in horses.
ColiClenz™ Plus is used on a 10 week cycle, engineered to cleanse the horse's gut, according to the behavior of the caecum.
Psyllium is a grain, a natural type of feed for a horse.
Nutritionally, psyllium seed husk does not offer the horse any protein, mineral or vitamin advantage.
Psyllium seed husk has properties which aid and assist the cleansing of the digestive tract, and through a regular regimen on the timeline of the horse's system, it will maintain the cleanliness created by the initial use of the product and helping avoid horse colic.
Synopsis:
Use too little psyllium seed husk, and it will be wasted because of the internal volume of the gut.
Use too much psyllium seed husk, and it has the potential to gel too quickly, creating an obstruction.
Use psyllium seed husk too regularly, and the horse's digestive tract will educate itself to create an enzyme to process the product into a "food" source.
Use psyllium seed husk for too long an interval and you will not harm the horse, but more importantly it will not maintain the cleanliness of the gut to a standard of productivity, i.e., maintain the high absorption of the nutritional value of the feed given the horse. It may not have the added value or effect of removing the bad bacteria or toxins from the system, thus leaving the horse exposed to impending illness.
